Hello, everyone, and welcome to ModernBanana.com. This site is an attempt to create an internet bridge for you to the visions inside my head.
UPDATES
6/11/07:
Red Wine on the Eve of Summer
is about the feelings of a young woman's first time to
breathe the salty air, visit the night life, see the Golden Gate Bridge shine in
the light of San Francisco. It's inspired by Vanessa Carlton's airy melody "San
Francisco," off her 2004 release Harmonium. I'm happy with the stylized,
painted effect
in my piece - first time I used openCanvas.
6/1/07: If you've never seen the music video for Imogen Heap's "Goodnight
and Go," I suggest you do now. It's amazing. Relating to it, I made a fashion
illustration of the outfit Imogen wore in the video; see it
here. I'm spending some time on digital work
now.
12/25/06: Put up a new graphic design work:
Let It All Out.
Go take a walk and breathe in some air. Let the act clear your mind and prepare
you for whatever lies ahead. Anyway, I listened to "Klåparen" by the Swedish
band Kent (off their album "Du & Jag Döden")
a lot when working on the piece. The song is amazing and gives off the feel of a
wide, earthly space. Go check it, and Kent (they rock!), out! Oh, and merry
Christmas or whatever you celebrate!
11/4/06: Links are now up to fanlistings I've joined. Check them out on the
new
Links page.
10/15/06:
The Sky Paints Itself in Watercolor
at 6:50 in the morning.
9/3/06: The poor thing couldn't fly.
9/1/06: During finals earlier last school year, my ninth grade English teacher gave her classes an assignment to illustrate a written work we'd read in class on a poster. I'd been crazy about the poem "My Mother Remembers Spanish Influenza" by John Ratti so here's mine. Done with Prismacolor markers.
8/28/06: Yet another new image, Billowing Spheres, is up now. It's an optical art work (my first try, by the way! I'm quite pleased with the results) done for art class. I really admire my design and the whole composition itself; it was worth slaving away hours.
8/27/06: New photograph up now: The Ice Tree Has a Heart. I'm not too fond of the overused red-black-white color scheme, but I believe it worked well here. I may add more versions of this photo, dunno.
8/19/06: Uploaded a design I made for art class last year that I actually really liked. You can view it here. Sorry if it looks choppy; the whole thing wouldn't fit in the scanner, so I had to scan it twice and connect the images thus.
7/28/06: The site now has a guestbook. Feel free to tell me what you think there.
